Arthur graduated from Loughborough University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Engineering Science and Technology in 1993. He earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago in 2004. He believes in continuing education and completed a Specialist Diploma in Computer Networking at Singapore Polytechnic in 2022 and a Specialist Diploma in Facility and Energy Management at BCA Academy, Singapore, in 2021.
Title of thesis: Digital technologies for enabling predictive analytics in Business Management Systems.
Smart buildings generate large volumes of operational data from systems such as lighting, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), access control, and environmental sensors. A smart building comprises equipment from multiple original equipment manufacturers. The data often remains siloed, limiting the ability to understand how a building operates as a whole. This research investigates how heterogeneous operational information can be systematically transformed into meaningful building-level knowledge.
