Professor Stuart Biddle awarded inaugural CASES Medal of Achievement

Professor Stuart Biddle

Professor Stuart Biddle has been awarded the first CASES Medal of Achievement. Stuart is a Visiting Professor to Loughborough University, having been affiliated with Loughborough since arriving as a student in 1973. He was Head of the then School of Sport & Exercise Sciences between 2001-2007.

The CASES Medal is granted to an individual who has made sustained, significant and important contributions to the sport or exercise sciences in the UK and internationally.

The nominators cited Professor Stuart Biddle as the distinguished academic and researcher in physical activity and sedentary behaviour. They noted that underpinned by his highly cited research, Stuart has made considerable global impact through international leadership, and by playing a key role in shaping national and international guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behaviour for the UK, Australia, Canada, and the World Health Organization

Commenting on this award, Stuart said: “Thank you so much. This is incredible and I am hugely honoured. I consider this a true career highlight for me.”
