Tom graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2013 with a degree in Sports Science for Performance Coaching before graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a Master of Research in Sports Biomechanics in 2016. Following the completion of his studies, Tom returned to the medical devices industry, where he supported orthopaedic surgeons during soft tissue surgeries. He also provided training to surgeons and hospital staff in the use of a range of equipment as well as liaising with overseas medical equipment manufacturers seeking to supply the UK market, supporting their growth and the provision of training within the UK.
Tom joined Loughborough University in 2023, and currently supports the delivery of Biomechanics teaching in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, as well as supporting the introduction and growth of the School's Rehabilitation MSc programmes.
Alongside his role in the School as a Postgraduate University Teacher, Tom is conducting doctoral research into the effect of slopes on technique and performance outcomes in golf, under the supervision of Dr Michael Hiley and Dr Glen Blenkinsop.
Outside of Loughborough University, Tom is working towards developing his own Biomechanics clinic whilst also working with companies to develop a range of biomechanical equipment.
Tom is a keen sportsman and plays football and golf whenever possible with the aim of becoming a scratch golfer in the future.
