Finding Your People

Living with returners and committee in first year helped me meet people across the university from a variety of backgrounds, courses and ages. The community spirit in Falk Egg is unmatched and made it really easy to settle in and make friends.

Hall Spirit and Committee Life

The best thing for me about living in halls has been the community I’ve found through hall committee. Being a Rag Rep meant I became part of the Rag family, including the icon Jane, and Falk Egg committee gave me some of my lifelong friends.

Becoming Hall Chair is an opportunity to have another year living in the best hall on campus and leading us towards Hall of the Year.

Favourite Memories

Our alumni weekend in May is the best network you could ever have. Every year, dozens of students return to play rugby against the current team and spend the weekend hanging out with the entire hall.

Events like this are uniquely Falk Egg and showcase the best of us: community spirit, pride and the ultimate work hard, play hard energy.

Advice for New Students

The best advice I could give to new students is to take a breath and not worry too much. The transition to uni is difficult, but there is support everywhere, from wardens to returners helping you settle in.

Any hall you choose at Loughborough will have a welcoming committee and you will find people like you. Follow your hall on Instagram, have a look at the vibe, and know you’ll make it work regardless. Even if Falk Egg is the best.
