Description of the Works

This project includes the Whitworth Tower Demolition including all associated ground and civils works as required to the Whitworth Tower building located within the Student Village.

Timescale

Works are due to start week commencing Monday 4th March 2024 and are programmed to complete in the of Summer 2024

WHY DOES THE WORK NEED TO BE DONE/WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO STUDENTS AND STAFF OF THE UNIVERSITY?

The demolition of Whitworth Tower is a key component of the future development of the village and will enable us to enhance the accommodation we can offer our students. It will also improve the appearance of the estate whilst reducing our environmental impact.

HOW WILL THE WORKS AFFECT ME?

Unfortunately, as with any construction project, there will be some disruption, specifically noise and dust, albeit every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

For your own safety and that of others, Facilities Management and the contractors would request that you assist by taking note of the works that are in progress and alternative routes that may be signed.
