Information: Recent changes to Adobe applications for staff

Adobe Licence

IT Services recently made changes to apply the new Adobe Licence. This has allowed more staff to gain access to the Adobe licence including casual and temporary staff for the first time. It has also allowed us to improve licence provision for key student cohorts who make significant use of Adobe products.

However, as part of this change, we are aware that there have been a small number of staff users who have experienced issues accessing Adobe products.

What do I need to do?

The majority of colleagues have been unaffected, but some may get an error message when opening an Adobe application. If this is the case, they should email it.services@lboro.ac.uk and the Service Desk will be able to restore access.

By default, there is no need for an Adobe licence if you are only opening or printing PDFs as these can be accessed using Adobe Reader. If you are just converting Office documents to PDFs, this is best done using the Save As function in Office and choosing PDF from the format list.

Where can I get more information?

If you have any further queries regarding this, please contact the IT Service Desk.
