IT Services have been implementing mitigations during today to help stabilise the network after identifying what we believe to be the root cause of the recent problems.
We believe these should now have a positive impact on the stability of the network, but the situation remains under close observation.
Further work is planned for next week to implement some other configuration changes which may require additional planned outages and at-risk periods. These outages will be kept a minimum duration to reduce impact across the University. Early communication will be sent to advise of the planned work and expected downtime.
We continue to work with our supplier Cisco to ensure the long-term stability of the network.
