Following completion of your studies, your IT user account will enter a 30-day expiry period.
The exact date varies from course to course, but this will be triggered from the date that you receive the decision from your Programme Board. From that point onwards, your IT user account will enter a 30-day expiry period. The dates will be published in the Results Notification email that you will receive from Registry.
After 30 days, access to your account and all University systems will be permanently terminated and all the data will be unrecoverable when it expires.
Action required
During the 30-day expiry period, it is important that you transfer any files and emails before your account expires.
Back up your data
This includes any documents you might require from your:
- University email account
- Learn (download and export content)
- University Microsoft 365 account including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and your OneDrive Loughborough University account
Update your email details
Check your contact information and communications preferences are up to date.
Where you have quoted or registered with your University email address (online accounts, job applications, etc) replace this with your personal email address.
Update your contact information.
Removal of University Software
Software that has been downloaded and installed as part of your studies will need to be removed. These programs are authorised by your University account, so you will lose access after your account expires. This includes access to your University Microsoft 365 account.
Return University IT equipment
If you have loaned any IT equipment, please ensure that this equipment is returned to the PC Clinic in the Library before leaving the University.
The Finalists website has everything you need to know about finishing your studies.
Staying at Loughborough?
If you are doing resits, you will retain access to your current IT account until the end of your course.
If you are returning to study on a different course, your current IT account will close and you will be given a new account
