LEON (Ethics)

All staff & students who are conducting research studies involving human participants are required to submit an ethical approval submission and, depending on the nature of the study, receive sign off at either School or Human Participant Sub-Committee (HPSC) level, or requires external NHS REC approval. Currently this is a paper-based process which compromises our ability to effectively collect, monitor, process, store and report the data.

The Ethics RM system allows staff and students to submit an ethical approval submission electronically. Depending on the questions answered, it sends the form to the appropriate committee for review and sign-off if required.
