Femi Akinsanya
Director of Athletics
With 40+ years in athletics as a competitor and coach, Femi is a former international triple jumper who competed at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and won 2004 World Masters gold. He progressed through British and England Athletics coaching roles before joining Loughborough in 2019. He has coached elite athletes across disciplines, including Phillips Idowu and Louise Hazel.
Emma Wiltshire
Athletic Programme Manager
Emma manages daily club operations and is the main contact for competition and BUCS enquiries. A Loughborough alumna, she has extensive athletics administration experience with Welsh and British Athletics, managing teams at major international events.
Kyle Bennett
Head Endurance Coach
Kyle brings 16+ years coaching from junior to international level. Former Head Endurance Coach at Oxford University, he led BUCS medal-winning teams and worked with England Athletics as Regional Coaching Lead and youth talent lead before joining Loughborough.
Dai Greene
Head Sprints and Hurdles Coach
Commonwealth, World, and European 400m hurdles champion, Dai captained Team GB at the 2012 Olympics. With 20 years of elite experience and top-level mentorship, he leads Loughborough’s sprints and hurdles programme.
Joe McDonnell
Head Para Sprints Coach
Joe has 18 years coaching Paralympians, including multiple gold medallists and world record holders Sophie Hahn and Libby Clegg. He is Lead Coach for the UK Invictus Team and manages Para Sprint coaching and athlete recruitment at Loughborough.
Kate Rooney
Pole Vault Coach
Former British record holder and two-time Olympian, Kate placed 6th at the 2009 World Championships. After a coaching break, she returned successfully, guiding Commonwealth finalists and BUCS medallists.
Łukasz Zawiła
Head Jumps Coach
A former high jumper from Poland with 10+ years coaching in the UK and Poland, Łukasz coaches triple, long, and high jumpers with international success. He heads Loughborough’s jumps programme and contributes to youth talent development.
