Pre-sessional programmes
Our pre-sessional programmes are an academic skills accelerator. You will develop the academic English and university study skills you need to be successful in your future studies.
From structuring academic writing to integrating and referencing sources to contributing in seminars and tutorials. The programmes are ideal both for students who must meet an English language requirement and for direct-entry students who want to start their degree with strong skills, confidence and a clear understanding of UK expectations.
The primary aim of our pre-sessional programmes is to prepare you for the demands of your programme of study by:
- Increasing your overall level of English language proficiency.
- Equipping you with the academic English and study skills required to cope with the learning demands of a Loughborough degree programme.
- Assisting your integration into the British social and academic environment.
How to apply
The pre-sessional programmes are only open to Loughborough University offer holders.
Postgraduate Taught or Postgraduate Research offer holders should apply for the pre-sessional programme using the account you previously created for your application.
Undergraduate, China Partnership or Exchange student offer holders will need to register using the online portal to apply for the pre-sessional programme.
Our programmes
The programmes are full time (minimum 8 hours study per day) and attendance is compulsory.
