I decided to study this programme because of its strong focus on data analysis and programming. My previous role was a production planner. I wanted to develop more advanced technical skills, and this programme perfectly aligned with that goal by offering modules that focus on data analytics and programming within a supply chain context.
My interest in supply chain management started during my undergraduate studies. The more I learned, the more I realised how much I enjoyed it. I like thinking logically and in sequences, and supply chain management gives you a broad view of how everything connects, from the initial supply point all the way to the end consumer. That big-picture perspective is what made me fall in love with this field.
My experience at Loughborough Business School has been amazing so far. From the beginning, I have received a lot of support. I’ve attended workshops and sessions organised by both the Business School and Loughborough Students’ Union, which have helped me understand student life, especially as an international student. These events made it much easier for me to settle into life in the UK.
One of my motivations for studying abroad was my desire to experience an international learning environment and explore different cultures. Studying at Loughborough has been a long-held dream for me. The UK is a very diverse and international country, so I haven’t found it difficult to settle in or make friends here.
A real highlight of the MSc Supply Chain Management programme will be the MIT SCALE Connect residential. I will have the opportunity to spend three weeks at MIT in Boston, which is an incredible experience. I hope it will give me valuable insights into how data analysis is applied in supply chain management and was definitely one of the standout aspects of the course.
I’ve also received a lot of support throughout my studies, not only from lecturers but also from my classmates. One particularly helpful element has been the academic language module, where I learned how to write essays, reference correctly, and conduct academic research. This has been extremely useful for my coursework. In addition, modules such as Supply Chain Measurement and Research have helped me develop both professional and research skills.
Outside of my studies, I’ve taken part in networking events organised by Loughborough Students’ Union, as well as workshops and career talks with different companies. These activities have provided me with useful information and have helped me think more clearly about my future career path.
My advice to anyone thinking about applying for the MSc Supply Chain Management at Loughborough is: don’t hesitate, and apply early. This is a very unique programme that gives you strong technical skills in areas like data programming and data processing, alongside in-depth knowledge of the supply chain field. Applying early also gives you more opportunities to be considered for scholarships and financial support, which can be extremely helpful.
Studying here is definitely helping me prepare for my future career. One example is the Capstone Project module, where I have the opportunity to work directly with a company on a real case study and real problems. This allows me to apply what I’ve learned in class to real-world situations and helps me build my professional skills for the future.
