As I plan to pursue a career in clinical psychology, the activities I take part in at Loughborough alongside my academics have been invaluable.
I volunteer for SHOUT, and I had the opportunity to attend Mental Health First Aid training. I also represent the university at The British Psychological Society. Through these experiences, I have learned valuable skills that I hope to apply in professional settings soon.
I am also part of the International Students’ Network committee as one of the Media & Communications Officers. My role includes the creation of digital content such as images, videos, and story posts to advertise events, celebrate holidays and unite diverse cultures. As an international student from Kenya, I was inspired to volunteer in this area because I experienced first-hand the culture shock, change and homesickness coming to the UK. I wanted to help other students who are in the same situation that I was.
