Student-led projects: Projects initiated and developed by students who want to explore an idea, solve a problem or create something new using technology.

DigiTech provides a platform for students to connect with others who have complementary skills, helping them find collaborators, develop ideas and gain practical experience.

Staff-led projects: Projects initiated by academic or university staff who are looking for students and staff with relevant skills and interests.

These projects can provide students with opportunities to contribute to research, solve real-world problems and gain experience working with experienced professionals.

Community-run projects: Projects where DigiTech actively brings together members of the community and provides additional support and resource to help an idea become a reality.

Projects may be selected on factors such as their technical relevance, novelty, potential impact and the level of support required.

DigiTech supports projects in different ways depending on their needs and potential impact. We provide a platform for students and staff to share ideas, find collaborators and connect with people who have relevant skills. DigiTech may also provide additional support through its community, technical expertise, workshops, resources and project development. Support can include:

  • Connecting people with relevant skills and interests
  • Helping projects find collaborators and team members
  • Providing technical knowledge and expertise
  • Supporting the development of innovative ideas
  • Providing opportunities to gain practical experience
  • Helping projects connect with the wider university community
  • Supporting selected community projects with additional resources

DigiTech welcomes ideas from students and staff who want to explore how technology can be used to create, solve problems and innovate.
