Employability
Our aim is to produce talented and well-rounded graduates who are ready for careers in charge of our built environment.
Our programmes are shaped by industry and partner feedback, which ensures that our graduates are well prepared for the ever-changing global jobs' market.
We have an impressive number of strategic partnerships within the sector that aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry, with colleagues from industry contributing guest lectures to our teaching programmes and providing real-world teamworking and on-site experiences to our students.
Our programmes are accredited by the relevant professional bodies in the UK, which facilitates progression towards chartered status with these bodies after a period of relevant graduate-level employment. The organizations that accredit our degrees include the Joint Board of Moderators, who represent the various professional institutes for civil engineering, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Full details are available on individual programme pages
The School is also a corporate affiliate member of the Association of Project Management.
Our graduates secure a range of roles in a diverse set of organisations, including Arup, Atkins, Balfour Beatty, Kier Group, Morgan Sindall, Oxfam, Transport for London, WaterAid and WSP, to name a few.
Loughborough students have won the international ASHRAE Integrated Sustainable Building Design (ISBD) competition twice in a row, showing the strength of the programmes in terms of sustainability and designing zero-energy buildings, and learning from practical applications.
We have a growing skills gap across the globe in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), and Loughborough’s master's programme provides an exciting opportunity towards closing that gap and ensuring we are ready for the demands and challenges that the future will bring.
