  • With a strong focus on sport performance, you will develop a fundamental and contemporary understanding of exercise physiology and sport nutrition through high-quality, research-led teaching. 
  • You will gain further insights into the physiology and nutrition industry and applied settings through guest speakers from major companies, such as Yakult and Gatorade Sports Science Institute. 
  • Add applied experience through voluntary internships or placements with elite athletes on campus through our Coach and Volunteer Academy, as well as through our strong links with British Swimming, British Triathlon, English Institute of Sport and UK Anti-Doping – all based on campus.
  • Undertake a research project under the supervision of world-leading research staff, with expertise in nitric oxide precursors, polyphenols and antioxidants, hydration, exercise and heat, recovery, exercise training, metabolic physiology, neuromuscular physiology and more. 
  • Our research in the areas of nutrition and physiology informs policy and practice across high performance sports, including swimming, cycling, triathlon and athletics.
  • Study the MSc part-time and combine your studies with a placement or internship.
  • You will be taught in high-quality teaching environments and have access to world-class facilities across a wide range of sports.
  • Take an ISAK body composition qualification with Loughborough Sport - a required qualification for consideration to be a Sport and Exercise Nutrition registered (SENr) practitioner.
