How to connect a games console to the network?
IT Services recommend you connect your games console to the wired network in your room where possible.
To use your games consoles on the network, you will need to use a device (laptop or mobile phone) that has already connected to any of the University's networks (either hallnet or eduroam). You need to register the MAC address of your console on the onboarding webpage. Follow the instructions below.
1. Log on to https://onboarding.lboro.ac.uk/mab with your username and password.
2. Enter the MAC address in the format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
3. Enter the description of your device (e.g. iPhone)
4. Click 'Register'.
5. Repeat this process for any additional device MAC addresses (this could be wired or wireless addresses).
Note: the MAC Address can take a few minutes to register for first time connection so please be patient.

First time connection
Connect to personal hotspot
To set up an Xbox for the first time, an internet connection is needed to access the system settings and find the MAC address. Since onboarded adapters won’t work at this stage, we recommend to use an alternative connection like a personal hotspot to complete the setup.
